Gay Marriage and Tiger Woods

There was a bit of irony in the listing of the news today in Google. Top was the New York Senate voting down Gay Marriage, and right below that was Tiger Woods’ admitting to extramarital affairs. Can someone please explain to me again the sanctity of heterosexual marriage?

CNN the President and Gay Marriage

I was watching CNN’s Anderson Cooper last night to catch some of the election results, in particular the outcome of the Maine’s Gay marriage issue. As a Gay person I was appalled when the commentator Rollin Martin, who is African American, made an off handed remark that he did not believe in Gay marriage, he was brought up that way. No one challenged him on it! If I was a commentator on CNN and said that I don’t believe that African American people should have the right to marry, they would have come after me with both barrels and forced me to resign, and rightfully so. He also mentioned that Obama believes that same way, which really to me is beyond hypocritical on the President’s part. He is a result of a mixed raced union. At one time in this country that was illegal in many states. And if one wants to use the Bible against us, I can do the same about mixed race marriages. I want to make it clear, I am not opposed to mixed race marriage, as the President should not be opposed to Gay marriage

Party Loyalist

What is it about loyalist for politicians no matter what party? I have Sam Adams as a Facebook friend and I believe he could take a shit in public and his loyalist would congratulate him on being organic!

The Rush Limbaugh Effect

In my opinion what is causing the antics at these town hall meetings on health care is what I call the Rush Limbaugh effect. No listening, no compromise, no conversation, but just simply bombastic bullying. It’s not good enough to disagree; one must destroy the opposition according to him. In this country everyone has a right to their opinion and also has the freedom to speak it. But, when you shout down another person trying to do the same thing, you are violating their rights. We need to get back to intelligently discussing the topic and also making progress on the issue. The time of hysterical screaming must end.
